I think this is a very stricking text design in itself, and I think the idea of it being printed on a shirt is a very good one! As to your questions about the background, I personally think the white is quite effective although I would prefer it transparent when viewing on here. For a shirt however, it gives it an almost professional look, would remind of concert or band shirts, but like....the really fancy ones you pay a lot for XD

It also reminds me (in terms of a shirt design) of the sort of shirts you sometimes see for charities, and even though it isn't for one, I still love the way it has a though-inspiring message and clear bold colours and textures.

In particular, my favourite part is the way that the brush strokes flow in such a well-composed way. Overall, I think this will be quite successful as both text art and a shirt design, well done!
