My TestimonyThis is something I wrote to indicate how I felt 6 years ago. I wasn't a very happy person and life didn't have any pleasure for me at all. I wasn't depressed, I just didn't see the point in life - you're born, you grow up, you have children and then you die - Whoopidoo. It just seemed a bit futile to me I guess, having no real purpose and having a meaningless existence. I wanted to really live a meaningful life and it didn't matter to me if I became the most successful and richest person in the world - that still wouldn't give me meaning, that still wouldn't satisfy me.So I wasn't happy. And then my mom decided she wanted us all to start going to church. I wasn't too happy about this either, knowing that I'll be dragged out of bed early every Sunday morning, but she didn't give me much of a choice so I went.It was dull and boring - and it was almost like torture sitting there every Sunday - but still some of the words the Pastor spoke sunk in ... I had always wondered about Go
10 Facts That Disprove Evolution1. We share half our DNA with bananas.2. The fossil record has holes in it. Dinosaur and humans footprints were found side-by-side in Arizona and Turkmenistan. In Uzbekistan, 86 consecutive hoof prints of horses were found in rocks dating back to the dinosaurs. Petrified trees in Arizona's petrified forest have fossilized nests of bees and cocoons of wasps. Those forests are reputedly 220 million years old, while bees (and flowering plants which bees require) supposedly evolved almost 100 million years later.3. No macro variations (speciation) in evolution have ever been observed. Micro evolution is species adaptations, and it's not the same as macro. Adjusting to the climate is very, very different than changing from species to another.4. Humans have the most neurons in their brains but primates don't have even close to that amount. They aren't even in the top ten.5. Radiometric dating does not take into account the way heat and water affect the aging of bones (it makes them appea
God in the Old TestamentMany non-Christians take issue with God's actions in the Old Testament. But I've noticed a pattern in their arguments. They say "God killed those people so He's evil" and say nothing else about the incident. This leads me to believe they don't know the context of what they're upset about, nor have they done the research to see the pattern of God's actions. Below, I have broken down 5 instances of God's judgment.1. The Global Flooda. The world was full of evil people, sin, and corruption. (Gen. 6:5), (Gen. 6:1-2)b. God warns that He will flood the world to destroy the evil (Gen. 6:13)c. Noah preached to the people of the world for about 100 years to repent from their evil, warning them what was to come (2 Peter 2:5)d. Only Noah's family remained loyal to God, so God's forewarned judgment falls (Gen. 7:17)e. Conclusion: God used His messenger Noah to warn a corrupt culture to repent but they didn't even after 100 years. And we find God's mercy being displayed on the one fami
UrgencyWe escape heartache,we flee from pain. We'd rather rationalise,we'd rather not be moved, but stay here comfortably, close our eyes so we won't seethat truth which would force usto change.Comfortis our disease, paralysing, holding, binding, shutting our mouths, our eyes blinding -we don't want the truth, because the truth hurts too muchand we don't want to hurt. The truth.Whoever does nothave the Son of Goddoes not have life.Lord, give me pain.Let me hurt for the lost, like you hurt for themand bled and diedrather than ignore the pain.Give me urgencyfor this great emergency;wake me from complacency.Wake me up.Let these blind eyes seethe need around me.Let these lame feet walkto where you take me.Let these dumb lips speakand share the newsthat all must hear.Let this cold heart yearnfor their salvation, the salvation thatyou died to give.
